Chapter 3: Others Should Trample Her:

Hearing Ling Ye's words, everyone exchanged glances and then bowed: "Yes!"

It was true that although many talented and beautiful women admired the emperor, their interactions with him were minimal. It was only right to let the emperor develop feelings for them first.

"If there's nothing else... the court is dismissed!"

Ling Ye waved his hand dismissively.

After paying their respects, everyone exited the hall one by one, preparing for the women in their families, who had long been infatuated with the emperor, to get ready for his arrival.

As the court officials left, only Ling Ye and a few attendants remained in the grand hall. Ling Ye pondered for a moment. Since he wanted to bring all these supporting female characters into his harem, he would start with... the Purple Moon Immortal Sect!

At this point in time, Gu Shengyan had just entered the Purple Moon Immortal Sect. The Purple Moon Immortal Sect was one of the largest sects within the Great Imperial Empire, spanning over a thousand miles with tens of thousands of outer disciples. At its core, where the spiritual Qi was most abundant and the cultivation resources were richest, was the inner sect.

Every year, the Purple Moon Immortal Sect's inner sect recruited outstanding disciples selected through rigorous tests from the outer sect.

This year, Gu Shengyan was among them—not due to her strength, but purely because of her luck.

In the original novel, after entering the inner sect, she became Ling Ye's disciple, climbing to the peak of her life thanks to the emperor's special relationship.

Ling Ye sneered coldly. There was no way he would take her as a disciple like in the original plot. Instead, he would take someone else—Su Xinyue, the first person Gu Shengyan humiliated.

Su Xinyue was the most talented and powerful among those who entered the Purple Moon Immortal Sect's inner sect this year. Her mother was once a famous wealthy figure in the Great Imperial Empire, but due to various reasons, their fortune had declined. Thus, Su Xinyue was barely a noblewoman from a fallen family, raised with dignity and well-educated. She was a diligent and excellent young woman, determined to restore her family's business.

Despite being perfect and hardworking, Su Xinyue inexplicably became the first person Gu Shengyan humiliated.

In the original novel, Gu Shengyan constantly overshadowed her, using her as a stepping stone, thanks to Ling Ye's support as her master. Su Xinyue's family, even at its peak, couldn't rival the emperor, let alone now that it had declined. This hardworking, excellent girl was turned into an insignificant stepping stone, even despised because of Gu Shengyan. She never managed to revive her family.

Ling Ye wouldn't let the events of the original novel happen. Why should such an outstanding girl be trampled by the heroine just because she was lucky? Gu Shengyan had no right to destroy her, no right to use her to rise.

With a cold sneer, Ling Ye headed straight to the Purple Moon Immortal Sect. If he were to take a disciple, it would be Su Xinyue, not Gu Shengyan. He would transfer all the benefits Gu Shengyan received in the original novel to Su Xinyue. If anyone were to be trampled, it would be Gu Shengyan.

...

The Purple Moon Immortal Sect, as one of the most powerful sects in the empire, maintained some interactions with the imperial court, annually providing fresh talent.

With tens of thousands of outer disciples, only a few could enter the inner sect, marking them as future formidable figures. The inner sect had twelve elders, who each year would select a few disciples from those who passed the rigorous tests.

At this time, before the grand hall in the inner sect, a teleportation gate appeared. Those who passed the tests would enter this gate, facing another assessment before meeting the twelve elders. Thirteen seats stood on a high platform in the hall, one reserved for the sect master, who rarely appeared and never took disciples.

The twelve elders were already seated. Besides them, some inner sect disciples were present, eager to see their future junior brothers and sisters.

"How many do you think will pass the test this year?" some inner sect disciples chatted as they waited.

"Not many, probably around a hundred," one guessed.

"I wonder who will get the Purple Moon Token this year," another said.

"With that token, you can choose your master."

"I got the Purple Moon Token back then and wanted to be the sect master's disciple, but she wasn't there, so I chose the head elder," one reminisced.

"Sect master? Keep dreaming; she never takes disciples," another laughed.

"I've been here three years and only seen the sect master once," someone else added.

"I've been here a year and still don't know what she looks like," another chimed in.

"She's an absolute beauty," one sighed.

"If only the sect master took disciples, I'd serve her day and night, even if just to pour tea and warm her bed," one said dreamily.

"Keep dreaming," another laughed.

As the inner sect disciples gossiped, a figure suddenly descended from the sky, and landed on the seat reserved for the sect master.

All eyes turned to this person in black robes, exuding a strong aura of nobility, like an emperor on a throne. It was Ling Ye.
