Chapter 48: Is She Really... Not Dead?:
High in the sky, as Ling Ye's figure appeared, the blood-colored shockwave gradually dissipated.
Ling Ye let out a soft breath.
If she died, then she died. Self-destructing and still biting him—truly a madwoman!
However, she ultimately posed no fatal threat to him. Now... she had turned to ashes!
Ling Ye was about to shift his focus back to Hua Luoshuang and the others to deal with the remaining demon army when he suddenly noticed something. His gaze fixed on the center of the fading blood-colored waves—where Lin Youyun had self-destructed.
There, a blood-red vortex was continuously swirling and shrinking until it condensed into a single point and vanished. This happened in an instant, and besides Ling Ye, no one else noticed.
What was that?
Ling Ye's eyes narrowed slightly, sensing something was amiss.
In the original novel, Lin Youyun also died in the final chapter, with the same blood-red vortex appearing momentarily at her place of death.
No one noticed it then, either.
What was that thing?
Could it be... Ling Ye recalled Lin Youyun's words. "You can't kill me."
Could it be... she isn't dead?
Could she still be alive?
It wasn’t entirely impossible!
Otherwise, there was no explanation for the blood-red vortex.
If this were true, it would mean Lin Youyun in the original novel also didn’t die.
Who knew if the novel would have a second or third season?
Maybe Lin Youyun was a hidden plot point in the original novel?
Ling Ye chuckled softly.
If that were the case, things would indeed become interesting!
He shifted his focus back. Whether Lin Youyun was dead or not, at least the demon clan was no longer a threat. From now on, there would be no more Seven Demon Divine Emperor Realm experts!
Even if Lin Youyun were alive, she wouldn't pose much of a threat.
"Your Majesty!" At this moment, Ji Ziruo and Hua Luoshuang flew over simultaneously. Their beautiful eyes looked at the bleeding bite mark on Ling Ye's neck with concern.
"No matter! Eliminate the demon army!" Ling Ye said calmly. He then personally led Hua Luoshuang and the others to clean up the demons.
The demons were already at a disadvantage, and with the death of Lin Youyun, their defeat was assured.
With Ling Ye joining the battle, the remaining demon forces were quickly and thoroughly wiped out.
Soon, everything was cleared, and not a single demon remained.
The battle ended!
Peace returned to the world, leaving only Ling Ye and his companions floating in the air, with the devastated Purple Moon Immortal Sect below.
Ji Ziruo looked at the ruined Purple Moon Immortal Sect and sighed helplessly. This was her Purple Moon Immortal Sect.
Although there were no casualties, the losses were unprecedented.
She was heartbroken. She could only turn her pleading eyes to Ling Ye. Since everything had been part of his plan, he should compensate her.
Seeing Ji Ziruo's pitiful gaze, Ling Ye smiled lightly. "Repair what can be repaired. The empire will cover the losses of what cannot be restored!"
Although this disaster was caused by Gu Shengyan, Ling Ye had used her to lure out Lin Youyun. Now that his goal was achieved, he would certainly compensate for the significant damage to Purple Moon Immortal Sect.
The losses should have been Gu Shengyan's responsibility, but she couldn't afford it.
Killing her wouldn't help either.
Ji Ziruo and the Purple Moon Immortal Sect would still suffer. So, Ling Ye was not helping Gu Shengyan but Ji Ziruo. After all, she was his woman; who else would he spoil?
Hearing Ling Ye's words, Ji Ziruo was overjoyed.
"Thank you... thank you, Your Majesty!" If Ling Ye was willing to compensate, the Purple Moon Immortal Sect could be restored to its original state.
Then, Hua Jintian and others began helping to repair the sect.
Arrays and training grounds could be fixed with their abilities. While they occupied themselves, Ling Ye took Ji Ziruo to Purple Moon Peak.
"Master..." As soon as Ling Ye landed, Su Xingyue ran over, nearly throwing herself into his arms. She had been terrified when Lin Youyun self-destructed.
What if something had happened to Ling Ye?
Seeing the blood-red bite mark on his neck, Su Xingyue's heart ached just like Ji Ziruo's.
"It's nothing!" Ling Ye smiled faintly.
Although bitten and shaken, he was unharmed. Lin Youyun could never kill him. As an emperor, he wouldn't recklessly gamble with his life.
"Capture that big guy first!" Ling Ye said to Su Xingyue.
"Mm!" Su Xingyue nodded, taking out the circular jade pendant.
Seeing the pendant, Gu Shengyan, standing nearby, frowned slightly.
Wasn't that the jade pendant she had given to Ling Ye?
He gave it to Su Xingyue?
And now, Ling Ye mentioned capturing the dragon, and Su Xingyue brought out the pendant.
What did that mean?
Could Ling Ye mean... using the pendant to capture the divine dragon?
