Chapter 2: I Want Them All:

Here, he was the emperor of the Great Imperial Empire, a sovereign of the highest order. He was a wise ruler of a grand empire, unmatched in power and appearance, flawless in every aspect. Yet, in the original novel, he gave everything to a heroine who had nothing.

The original heroine, Gu Shengyan, lacked beauty, talent, skills, and status. She was selfish, brainless, and willful—a typical airheaded heroine in a frivolous female-oriented cultivation novel. Despite her foolishness, she possessed one thing others didn't: luck.

No matter where she went, she encountered various fortuitous events. Moreover, men would inexplicably help her, creating ambiguous relationships.

In the original story, the first time Ling Ye met Gu Shengyan, he found her interesting and became romantically involved with her, offering her continuous support. With the backing of an emperor, her path was smooth, and she rose to great heights.

In the original story, nearly all men were inexplicably obsessed with Gu Shengyan. But, all the supporting female characters, especially those who were beautiful, talented, and well-positioned, became stepping stones for her to show off and succeed. The women mentioned by the officials in the hall had all been such stepping stones for Gu Shengyan in the original plot.

The main reason these exceptional supporting characters became stepping stones was Ling Ye's favor. With the emperor's help, Gu Shengyan could act with confidence, humiliating and surpassing the other women.

Sitting on the dragon throne, Ling Ye propped his head with one hand, deep in thought. This was indeed a brainless female-oriented novel. He, a majestic emperor, unmatched in the world, ignored so many admiring and exceptional women to favor a foolish heroine. It was like choosing a grain of sand from a pile of diamonds—utterly stupid.

Moreover, he fell in love at first sight? What nonsense! The more he thought about it, the more disgusting it became.

The most revolting part was the original novel's ending, where he agreed with the other male characters to hold a grand wedding for Gu Shengyan—one bride, multiple grooms! An emperor sharing a bride with a dozen men? Ridiculous!

As the emperor of a great nation, how could he do something so degrading? It was a complete disgrace to himself and the Great Imperial Empire.

Abandoning his dignity for a foolish woman? No way. He had no reason to ignore the many outstanding women around him in favor of an airhead. In the end, he only married her and even shared her with other men? Disgusting!

No part of the original plot should happen. Now that he had transmigrated, such nonsense was out of the question.

Ling Ye rose from his throne, waved his sleeve and addressed the gathered officials, "What my beloved ministers have said is true! I should indeed take an empress and concubines. As for those recommended, I... want them all!"

In the original novel, he only favored Gu Shengyan. Now, he would cherish all the other women instead. As for Gu Shengyan, she could disappear for all he cared! She wasn't worthy of his favor. Let those foolish suitors chase after her; he wouldn't bother.

However, Gu Shengyan's luck was a big deal. Those advantages she had didn't belong to her. He needed to find a way to transfer them to the deserving supporting characters, his future concubines.

Ling Ye's declaration left the hall in stunned silence. No one expected the emperor to agree so readily and even want them all. Joy quickly spread among the officials.

"Your Majesty is wise and enlightened, forever and ever!" The officials were overjoyed. The emperor finally agreed to marry, ensuring the Dayuan royal lineage's continuation. The longstanding void was about to be filled, making the dynasty truly perfect.

"I'll call my sister back from the border!"

General Hua Jintian exclaimed, turning to leave. "She's always in armor, wielding weapons. It's time she stayed by Your Majesty's side, serving day and night!"

"I'll have my granddaughter come to the palace!" The old Prime Minister added, bowing. Others also began making arrangements to contact those they recommended, knowing the women would eagerly accept being Ling Ye's concubines.

"There's no need," Ling Ye interjected. "I will seek them out myself." He couldn't disrupt the original plot's flow; if Gu Shengyan deviated from it, her luck might change, making it harder for him to control. Everything should proceed according to the original plot, with Gu Shengyan encountering each supporting character, allowing him to transfer her luck to them and prevent them from becoming her stepping stones.
