Chapter 9: The Villainess, Ling Youruo:

Looking at the island ahead, Ling Ye smiled slightly, “There’s always a way to find more wine!”

He then laid back down, and let the small boat slowly drift toward the island.

The night was dark, and the sky was filled with stars.

The little boat continued to move forward slowly.

It seemed so beautiful, so free and unrestrained.

Yet, within that beauty, there was an air of deadly intent!

As the boat neared Tianyou Island, waves of killing intent rushed toward it from the island!

This was the Tianyou Demon Sect's main base.

A forbidden place!

Most people couldn’t even find it.

And if they did, approaching without permission meant certain death!

But Ling Ye was deliberately heading toward that path of death!

By now, the guards on Tianyou Island had naturally noticed the small boat beneath the night sky.

They didn’t think much of it!

They didn’t even plan to ask about the person’s background or intentions!

“Shoot them dead with a volley of arrows!”

The lead guard saw the boat and, without a second thought, gave the order!

Anyone who approached Tianyou Island must die!

No reason was needed.

Getting close to Tianyou Island was reason enough to die!

Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh...

In an instant, dozens of arrows, tipped with fire, shot toward the small boat!

Each one hit the mark, striking the boat with precision.

The small boat immediately burst into flames!

Soon, a bright blaze lit up the surface of the sea.

The lead guard then drew his long sword from his waist and, with a swift motion, slashed toward the burning boat from a distance!

Slash!

A dazzling blade light shot out, and with a sharp sound, it sliced the burning boat clean in half.

With this, the person on board naturally couldn’t have survived.

What they didn’t know, however, was that the person had already vanished...

(On Tianyou Island)

The grand, opulent hall of the Tianyou Demon Sect was as splendid as a palace.

On the high platform, behind a blood-red curtain of beads, was a blood-red bed.

On it sat a blood-red, seductive figure.

This was a true enchantress!

Her figure was curvaceous and alluring, dressed in a soft, fiery red silk gown, with her chest partially exposed.

Beneath the red dress, a glimpse of her long, straight jade-like legs could be seen.

This was a body that held an irresistible, fatal attraction for men.

Behind the beaded curtain, there was an even more alluring sense of mystery, as if seeing through a veil of mist...

Unfortunately, her face couldn’t be seen.

Because it was hidden behind a mask!

A blood-red fox mask!

She looked like a vixen.

And indeed, she was born to be one!

This person was none other than the leader of the Tianyou Sect!

Ling Youruo!

The woman whom the world called both enchanting and ruthless... the Demon Queen!

At this moment, the grand hall was deathly silent!

A man was kneeling in the center, his body trembling uncontrollably.

Everyone else in the hall stood with their heads lowered, not daring to utter a word!

“Not only did you fail to kill Ye Lin, but you also exposed the location of the 138th branch, which she then slaughtered?”

At this moment, Ling Youruo’s voice rang out from behind the beaded curtain.

The voice was so melodious, so enticing.

But at the same time, it was so cold, it sent chills down one’s spine!

When everyone in the hall heard this voice, they didn’t dare to even breathe loudly.

The man kneeling on the ground was already drenched in cold sweat!

“And now... you have the nerve to return and face me?”

Ling Youruo’s alluring yet icy voice sounded again from behind the curtain.

Hearing this, the man kneeling on the ground immediately began kowtowing.

He banged his head against the ground with loud thuds, while he pleaded for mercy.

“Demon Lord! It was my incompetence! I was careless!”

As he kowtowed, he begged, “Please forgive me, Chief! Please forgive me!”

The Tianyou Sect was founded with the purpose of opposing the imperial court.

Their goal was to overthrow the court and kill all the court’s dogs.

Among the 365 branches, the 138th branch was located in Cangyun Province!

Princess Ye Lin of the Mysterious Jade Empire had recently passed through Cangyun Province.

Ling Youruo had given the order to assassinate her there.

But not only did they fail to kill Ye Lin, she retaliated by wiping out the 138th branch!

Only the branch leader had survived and returned.

So now, Ling Youruo was, of course, furious.

“Since you’ve admitted your incompetence, what use do I have for you?”

Ling Youruo’s cold and seductive voice echoed again, “You... may leave!”

Leave?

Hearing this, the branch leader’s heart trembled violently.

Was she letting him go?

Of course not!

That was absolutely impossible!

In the Tianyou Sect, if one failed in their mission, there was no good outcome!

Letting him go was actually the most sinister punishment of all...

Five years ago, Ling Youruo had done something similar.

At that time, the Left Enforcer of Tianyou, one of Ling Youruo’s most trusted aides, betrayed the sect.

Ling Youruo hadn’t been angry; instead, she had let him go!

He thought Ling Youruo had truly forgiven him.

So, he retired from the martial world, married, and had a child.

But... just after his child was born, on the day of the full moon celebration...

Ling Youruo sent people to slaughter his entire family of three!

That was the most sinister punishment!

Facing the mountain of blades and the sea of flames?

Flaying and extracting the tendons?

Poisonous insects burrowing into the heart?

What were those compared to this?

The most vicious punishment was giving you something, only to snatch everything away at your happiest moment!

Would you rather be executed by a thousand cuts?

Or would you rather marry, have children, and then see your wife and child cut to pieces along with you?

Dying in utter despair was actually a form of release!

But dying at the height of happiness, while watching your wife and child die first, was true torment!
