Chapter 19: It Is My Incompetence That Troubled Your Majesty:

Passing through the courtyard, Su Wanxi entered the main hall.

As soon as she stepped inside, she saw Su Xinyue and Ling Ye.

At this moment, Ling Ye was seated while Su Xinyue was respectfully pouring tea for him.

Seeing this, Su Wanxi frowned slightly.

Even if they were in love, her daughter shouldn’t act like a servant. Her daughter needed to have some dignity.

Su Wanxi then focused on Ling Ye. He was in black robes, exuding noble aura. He was indeed an exceptionally handsome man. However, no matter how handsome he was, her daughter should not lower herself so much. After all, Su Xinyue was the eldest daughter of the Su family.

Su Wanxi walked in with the stride of an elder. “Xinyue!” she called out, making her voice sound stern.

Seeing her mother, Su Xinyue’s face lit up with joy. “Mother!”

“And who is this?” Su Wanxi’s eyes remained fixed on Ling Ye.

“This is my master from the Purple Moon Immortal Sect,” Su Xinyue replied, smiling as she walked up and took her mother’s hand. She then whispered something in her ear.

Upon hearing her daughter’s words, Su Wanxi’s face instantly showed shock. The stern look she had put on disappeared, and she immediately knelt down. “This humble woman greets Your Majesty!”

The Emperor? Her daughter had brought back the Emperor? And he was her daughter’s master?

How did this happen? How had her daughter met the Emperor at the Purple Moon Immortal Sect?

This was astonishing.

Her daughter had become the Emperor’s disciple?

“Stand up, don’t bother with formalities,” Ling Ye said calmly while holding a teacup.

“Thank you, Your Majesty,” Su Wanxi replied, standing up. The dignity and sternness she had displayed earlier were gone, replaced by surprise and awe. She placed her hands in front of her and slightly bowed her head, looking more like a maid than her daughter had.

She marveled at how capable her daughter was to have the Emperor as her master. If there was more to their relationship, it would be even more remarkable.

“Xinyue has extraordinary talent. With proper training, she will achieve great things,” Ling Ye said, standing up. “But I know your Su family has troubles, which weigh on her mind.”

“That’s why I’ve come to help your family resolve these issues. I can’t let her worry about trivial matters and neglect her cultivation.”

Su Xinyue’s troubles in the original novel were made worse by family issues and Gu Shengyan’s suppression, which stifled her potential.

With her talent, her future achievements could rival those of Ji Ziruo.

Today, Ling Ye decided to help solve her family’s problems so she could focus on her training.

Hearing this, Su Wanxi was astonished.

How did the Emperor know about her family’s troubles?

She glanced at Su Xinyue, thinking her daughter must have told him. They say one should not air family grievances, but her daughter had revealed all to the Emperor!

Su Xinyue gave a helpless look, indicating she hadn’t said anything. The Emperor had known everything on his own.

Su Wanxi bowed slightly. “It is my incompetence that has troubled Your Majesty.”

Indeed, it was her lack of ability that had brought the Su family to this state.

Ling Ye smiled lightly. “You are a woman after all. How can you fight against them?”

His words touched a soft spot in Su Wanxi’s heart. His gaze made her feel an inappropriate flutter in her heart. His words felt like understanding. She longed for a man who could understand and support her. She quickly looked away, suppressing those thoughts.

He was the Emperor, and she could not afford to have such disrespectful ideas.

“Lei Province’s City Lord is Lei Ying, correct?” Ling Ye asked.

“Yes,” Su Wanxi nodded lightly.

“Summon him to the Su family immediately. I want to see him now,” Ling Ye commanded.

“Yes!” Su Wanxi nodded, and quickly sent someone to convey the message to the City Lord’s Office, summoning Lei Ying.

Her heart was filled with joy. With the Emperor himself intervening, how could there be any more trouble?

His word alone would ensure no one dared to oppose the Su family again. Now, the Su family would be saved!
