Chapter 7: The Ridiculous Female-Oriented Novel, How Terrifying!:

"Your insight is indeed sharp; the Purple Moon Immortal Token is with her!" Ji Ziruo continued, "I don’t understand how someone as weak as her, only in the sixth realm of Spiritual Martial Arts, managed to get the Purple Moon Immortal Token. Perhaps... she does have something special about her."

The Purple Moon Immortal Token was marked by Ji Ziruo's spiritual power was indeed with Gu Shengyan. Ji Ziruo couldn't understand how someone so weak could obtain it. Gu Shengyan was the weakest among the new disciples.

Ling Ye smiled slightly, "Sometimes... luck surpasses all strength."

Gu Shengyan’s luck was undeniable. Surrounded by a group of admirers, she coincidentally ended up with the Purple Moon Immortal Token. The token was won through the combined efforts of Gu Shengyan and her admirers, but they decided to give it to her. This was her fortune, her destiny. Wherever she went, people would help her, especially men.

Ji Ziruo nodded lightly, thinking that luck might indeed be the answer. This girl’s luck seemed better than others’.

“Hmph, Gu Shengyan?” At this moment, some disciples who had just walked out of the portal cast mocking glances at Gu Shengyan, “We didn't expect someone like you to get in here.”

These disciples knew Gu Shengyan from the outer sect and had some grudges against her.

The outer sect was like a school, so conflicts were common.

According to the usual plot of a brainless novel, these people would start by mocking Gu Shengyan, only to be stunned when she revealed the Purple Moon Immortal Token.

“Sixth realm of Spiritual Realm! I wonder how you got in here! I doubt any inner sect elder would take you as a disciple.”

Facing ridicule, Gu Shengyan snorted, “Hmph! So what if your strength is greater than mine? At least I rely on myself! Unlike some people who only have rich family resources for their training.”

She implied that if she had enough resources, she wouldn't be inferior to them.

“Exactly! They’re all supported by their families. What’s there to be proud of? Shengyan, ignore them!” her admirers defended her.

“There’s still a long way to go! In the inner sect, your family resources won’t help you. We’ll compete on equal terms and see who the real winner is!” Gu Shengyan retorted coldly.

“Hmph! We’ll see about that!” The other disciples sneered.

Buzz!

Just then, another person emerged from the portal—a girl in white robes, around the same age as Gu Shengyan. Unlike Gu Shengyan, this girl was far superior in every aspect—her delicate beauty, pure temperament, and her cultivation base, which was a whole realm higher.

This was Su Xinyue, one of the original novel’s secondary female characters. Compared to Su Xinyue, Gu Shengyan seemed like a little beggar.

“Hmph! Another rich girl!” Gu Shengyan muttered as she glanced at Su Xinyue, “All the glitter and glamour, but what else does she have besides her family?”

Although Su Xinyue’s family had declined, compared to someone like Gu Shengyan, she was still from a wealthy family.

Su Xinyue frowned slightly but said nothing. She simply glanced at Gu Shengyan before looking away.

She was raised with good manners, so she knew when to argue and when not to. If pushed too far, she could kill. But killing was not allowed in the inner sect, so she chose to ignore Gu Shengyan.

As Ling Ye watched everything from his seat, he thought, “Yes, that's just how the protagonist is in these stories.”

Su Xinyue had done nothing to provoke Gu Shengyan, yet she was already being provoked. What a baseless grudge, purely out of jealousy.

“Do you think she’s interesting?” Ji Ziruo asked, noticing Ling Ye’s gaze fixed on Gu Shengyan.

Ling Ye withdrew his gaze and smiled. Interesting? In the original novel, yes. But now, she had no appeal to him.

"This girl is quite good," Ji Ziruo remarked, referring to Su Xinyue, "She is the most outstanding among this batch of inner sect disciples. Her talent and strength are impressive."

Ling Ye’s slight change in expression did not go unnoticed by Ji Ziruo. She could see everything in his eyes.

Ling Ye merely smiled. He had come to take Su Xinyue as his disciple to prevent her from being trampled by the brainless protagonist aura of Gu Shengyan.

"Do you like her?" Ji Ziruo asked, seeing the smile on Ling Ye's lips and seemingly guessing his thoughts.
