Chapter 5: Ling'er Can Definitely Do It:
After breakfast, Xu Ze took Gu Ling'er to his bedchamber. He planned to teach her the cultivation techniques and mystical skills here.
Given the time limit—they only had a week—Xu Ze had to prepare Gu Ling'er for sleepless and tireless efforts.

But now, seeing him up close, she realized that the great Holy Son was kind and approachable. He not only ate with her but was also very gentle, which was vastly different from the aloof image she had in her mind. This difference made Gu Ling'er look at Xu Ze with a newfound admiration.
“This is the Elemental Jade Technique, a fundamental technique that all female disciples of the Heavenly Dark Sect must master. Can you read and memorize this entire technique by the end of today?” Xu Ze handed her the prepared manual.
Though the Elemental Jade Technique was fundamental, it wasn't easy to master. It consisted of 33 thousand words, with texts that were confusing and difficult to understand. A regular female disciple of the Heavenly Dark Sect would need at least three days to memorize it. But with time being short, Xu Ze couldn't afford to let Gu Ling'er waste time.
Gu Ling'er took the manual, and her eyes flickered with self-doubt. “Holy Son, do you expect Ling'er to memorize this in one day?”
“What I expect doesn’t matter. You must memorize it within one day,” Xu Ze said sternly. “If you can’t, I'll have to find someone else to teach.”
Find someone else?
Gu Ling'er felt a surge of panic as if her lifeline was being pulled away.
Her hands and feet turned cold, and sweat broke out on her forehead.
No! She had finally found a ray of hope in her life. She couldn't let it slip away!
“I can do it! Holy Son, I can definitely memorize it in one day!” Gu Ling'er said earnestly, and her previous hesitation vanished. She seemed like a different person, and her determination even surprised Xu Ze.
