Chapter 93:

Amid the misty mountains stood a towering building over a thousand feet high. The building emanated a dense aura of the Dao of Fire. This was the Dan Tower, a divine-grade artifact.

Dan Tower was surrounded by palace pavilions, cascading silver waterfalls, and occasional bursts of radiant light with rising Dao patterns, exuding a strong fragrance of medicinal pills.

At this moment, three pieces of news were quickly spreading among the mountain peaks:

“The Holy Son of the Great Holy Sect is here!”

“He brought someone from the Nangong family.”

“That person carries the Pavilion Master's token!”

The title 'Pavilion Master' alone caused a tremendous uproar within the Danqing Pavilion.

If the Pavilion Master hadn’t disappeared for so many years, leaving Danqing Pavilion without a master, it wouldn’t have been suppressed by other forces to this extent. With the Pavilion Master's position still vacant, the disciples were hoping for his return to lead Danqing Pavilion back to its former glory.

Su Changye stood outside a grand hall in white robes, with an elegant demeanor and extraordinary looks. His faint smile attracted the attention of many female disciples within the Danqing Pavilion.

Meanwhile, Nangong Yun stood beside him, observing the surroundings.

“Although the Danqing Pavilion has been in decline for a long time, the sect still holds a certain grandeur.” Nangong Yun remarked, her gaze sweeping over the towering buildings and floating Dao patterns, exuding a majestic aura.

Su Changye smiled lightly, “That's normal. After all, the Danqing Pavilion was once the foremost alchemy force on the Zhongtian continent."

“But once it falls out of favor, it can't resist the tide of change,” Nangong Yun sighed. With her purple dress and light makeup, she looked more graceful than usual.

The old Pavilion Master had entrusted her with a heavy responsibility, adding to her pressure. The current state of the Danqing Pavilion and how many would accept her were still unknown.

Shortly after, streaks of rainbow light descended in front of the grand hall.

“The Holy Son of the Great Holy Son is here. Forgive me for not greeting you sooner.” An elderly man in a green robe bowed slightly to Su Changye. The others followed suit.

Even at its peak, Danqing Pavilion didn’t dare challenge the Great Holy Sect, let alone now with Su Changye as the patriarch of the Su family and Danqing Pavilion in decline. These elders dared not show any disrespect to Su Changye.

Su Changye nodded with a smile, “I came uninvited, sorry to trouble everyone.”

“You're too polite, Holy Son. Please come inside.” The elder in green robes, Elder Mingyang, immediately led Su Changye and the others into the grand hall.

After serving tea, Elder Mingyang’s gaze fell on Nangong Yun. The other elders of the Danqing Pavilion also looked at her.

Having just received the inheritance, her aura of alchemy hadn’t dissipated. While ordinary people wouldn’t notice, these old monsters deeply immersed in the Dao of Alchemy weren’t unfamiliar with it.

“A Yin body with internal alchemy fire?” Elder Mingyang exclaimed in surprise. He had only heard that Su Changye brought someone related to the Pavilion Master, not knowing Nangong Yun had received the inheritance.

“Yun’er, explain to them.” Su Changye said.

Nangong Yun nodded gently and recounted how she obtained the inheritance within Tianyuan.

An elder sighed, “No wonder the Pavilion Master hasn't been heard from for years. He must have been involved in the dangers of the Holy Land.”

Though entering the Holy Land had cultivation restrictions, it didn’t mean high-level cultivators couldn’t enter.

Given the Pavilion Master’s strength, entering the Holy Land wouldn’t have been difficult.

But who knew he could get in but not out?

As a forbidden area in the Azura Dao domain, the Holy Land was extremely dangerous, and the experiences in Dongling were just on the outskirts.

“Elders, this is the token the Pavilion Master entrusted to me.” Nangong Yun took out a token burning with flames.

“The Sacred Fire Token?”

“It seems this is real.”

“With the Sacred Fire Token...”

The elders exchanged glances. Su Changye took a sip of tea, smiling without speaking. The Sacred Fire Token, held by successive Pavilion Masters of Danqing Pavilion, signified the inheritance of the Pavilion Master.

The holder of this token represented the Pavilion Master of Danqing Pavilion.

Elder Mingyang said solemnly, “Miss Nangong, did the Pavilion Master say anything?”

Nangong Yun replied, “The Pavilion Master imparted all his skills to me and appointed me as his successor.”

Indeed!

The elders fell silent.

Nangong Yun’s talent was high, and if she joined the Danqing Pavilion, they would wholeheartedly welcome her. But becoming the Pavilion Master immediately? That was a different story.

Elder Mingyang glanced at the others. As the Grand Elder of Danqing Pavilion, he said, “Miss Nangong, though Danqing Pavilion has declined, its foundation remains. The internal affairs are complex. You’ve just arrived and taking the position of Pavilion Master might invite criticism. Moreover, you’ve never been involved in alchemy before. Even with high talent, you need time to settle. How about postponing this matter for a few years?”

“Yes, Miss Nangong lacks experience in alchemy. It’s better to stay in the sect for a few years first.”

“When Miss Nangong understands the sect’s affairs and achieves in alchemy, then we can discuss the Pavilion Master position.”

The elders echoed these sentiments. Nangong Yun felt helpless. These old foxes spoke flawlessly, neither agreeing nor refusing. They aimed to delay, easily sidelining her from the core of Danqing Pavilion over time. Though she understood this, she could only seek help from Su Changye.

Elder Mingyang and the others turned to Su Changye.

“Holy Son, what do you think?” Mingyang asked.

“I think… not much of it.” Su Changye put down his teacup, saying lightly, “Yun’er’s talent has been verified by the old Pavilion Master. In less than ten years, she’ll surely be famous in Azura. Ten years pass in a blink; what's the problem? As for the Pavilion Master's duties, with experienced elders assisting, it shouldn’t be an issue. Or do you think Yun’er’s words are false, and I conspired with her to deceive you all?”

The elders were startled and quickly shook their heads.

“Holy Son, you jest. With your status, why would you do such a thing?” Elder Mingyang’s eyes flickered as he sighed, “The Pavilion Master might not know Danqing Pavilion’s current plight. We're suppressed by major forces. If Miss Nangong takes the position, those forces might suppress us further.”

Su Changye smiled, “That’s fine. Once Yun’er becomes Pavilion Master, I’ll have Su family members assist. I believe those forces will respect the Su family. Give it a hundred years or so, and the Danqing Pavilion will surely regain its former glory.”

Elder Mingyang was taken aback. He had intended to use the threat of other forces to prevent Nangong Yun from taking the position. Unexpectedly, Su Changye took the opportunity to involve the Su family. While their help would ensure Danqing Pavilion’s development, getting rid of them later would be difficult. Once the Danqing Pavilion prospered, half of it might end up under Su family control.

“Holy Son, I think this matter...” Elder Mingyang began.

“What, do you still have questions?” Su Changye’s eyes narrowed slightly.

Suddenly, a tremendous pressure enveloped the entire hall.

Feeling this pressure, Elder Mingyang and the others’ expressions changed dramatically.

“I think this arrangement is quite good.” Su Changye looked around with a smile, “What do you all think?”
