Chapter 067: I’ll Be a Dog for You, Just Don’t Kill Me:
"Whoever you are—die!"
Seeing a shadowy figure, Chen Bansheng instinctively backed away before readying to strike. His combat skills were formidable; by Lu Yu's standards, he had about 21 points of vitality and 18 points of mental strength, plus a solid foundation in martial arts. Under normal circumstances, few could match him in a fight. But as he moved, something felt off.
It was as if he were trapped in a nightmare, struggling to make even a simple kick. He felt weak and powerless.
“What’s happening?”
Chen Bansheng’s foot stopped mid-kick, inches from his target. His opponent hadn’t even flinched.
“Master Chen, why so hostile?” a taunting voice broke the silence, sending a chill down Chen Bansheng’s spine.
“You… it’s you?”

The bedroom lights flicked on, revealing Lu Yu’s smug smile. “Surprised?” Lu Yu’s voice was laced with mockery.
“What are you doing in my house? And what have you done to me?” Chen Bansheng demanded.
Lu Yu chuckled, “Why am I here? Didn’t you open the door for me? And as for what I’ve done to you… Master Chen, aren’t you a master of the mystic arts? Shouldn’t you be able to tell?”
“What? I let you in? That’s not—wait… did you put a puppet curse on me?” Chen Banshengng stammered, fear appearing on his face.
Lu Yu smiled, pleased with Chen’s realization. “Seems Feng Qingzi’s student isn’t entirely clueless, but you’re a bit late to figure it out.”
“No… impossible!” Chen Bansheng’s disbelief grew as he realized the implications. “You… you’ve tampered with the feng shui of the Bai, Wu, Yuan, and Sun families, haven’t you? I couldn’t even sense it!”
Lu Yu clapped mockingly. “Well, at least you figured something out. A bit late for that, though, don’t you think?”
“No, no, that’s impossible!” Chen Bansheng’s face twisted. “How could you have surpassed me in feng shui? I’ve studied for years under my master, and now you’re telling me that some nobody like you is more powerful than me?”
Lu Yu sneered, “What’s so impossible about it? I’ve been planning this for half a month.”
As he spoke, Lu Yu made a gesture with his right hand. A small puppet, sitting on a bedside table with a tag of Chen Bansheng’s birth date on its forehead, suddenly stopped moving. The puppet relaxed, and so did Chen Bansheng.
Realizing he was completely at Lu Yu’s mercy, Chen Bansheng gritted his teeth. “You even messed with the chamber pot, didn’t you?”
“Of course. Do you think my men would have just dumped you on me for no reason?” Lu Yu said, smirking. “Ah, now I understand why villains on TV love to talk so much when their plans come together.”
“What are you planning?” Chen Bansheng asked, a touch of desperation in his voice.
“What do you think?” Lu Yu’s eyes narrowed. “After all the harm you planned for my family, I’d say you deserve to die.”
“No, you can’t kill me!” Chen Bansheng’s confidence began to falter. Nobody was immune to the fear of death, least of all him.
“Oh, I can’t?” Lu Yu feigned surprise. “And why is that?”
Chen Bansheng’s mind scrambled. “Young Master Sun and Young Master Wu will avenge me! They won’t let this slide.”
Lu Yu snorted. “Oh please. Let’s not pretend you’re that important to them. And even if they cared, you really think they’d take on my family for you?”
Chen Bansheng fell silent, the truth hitting him hard. Even if his allies might care, he knew that once he was gone, they’d forget him in a heartbeat.
Desperation seeping in, he clung to one last hope. “My master will come for you if I die. He’ll avenge me!”
“Oh, your master? He might be a threat, but do you think I’m afraid of him?” Lu Yu sneered, unfazed.
Chen Bansheng hesitated. Judging by Lu Yu’s confidence, he wasn’t so sure his master would succeed. With few options left, he made one last plea. “Killing me is a crime. You can’t escape the law forever.”
“Oh?” Lu Yu’s mouth twisted into a grin. “Are you sure you understand who you’re dealing with? As Feng Qingzi’s disciple, you should know about blood puppets, shouldn’t you?”
“No… you’re using blood puppets?” Chen Bansheng’s heart sank. He had held onto a sliver of hope, but now it was crushed. A puppet curse could be broken in a few hours, but blood puppets were a different story.
Blood puppets could only be activated at a person’s lowest point, but once in place, they provided near-total control over the victim, lasting up to 24 hours unless released by the caster.
“I don’t want to die… Lu Yu, you can’t kill me,” Chen Bansheng whimpered, his voice cracking. “Please… let me go. I’ll return Bai Qingzhi to you. I’ll never go near her again. Please, I’ll do anything. I’ll even be your dog if you let me live!”
Lu Yu laughed. “Too late to beg, and I’m not interested in Bai Qingzhi anymore.”
“Then… then I’ll serve you! I’ll do anything you ask. I’ll be your loyal dog!” Chen Bansheng’s face twisted with fear, clinging to any hope of survival.
“Ha! A dog? Really?” Lu Yu laughed coldly. “I can have dogs, but I don’t keep wolves.”
With that, Lu Yu picked up a prepared fruit knife and pricked his finger, letting a few drops of dark red blood fall onto his palm. He drew a quick spell with the blood and stretched his fingers toward Chen Bansheng’s forehead.
“Goodbye, Master Chen.”
Chen Bansheng’s eyes filled with panic. He tried to scream, but his voice caught in his throat. With a final, despairing look, his eyes turned dull as Lu Yu’s spell took full effect.
