Chapter 65:

This banquet was originally intended to celebrate Li Guohua's recovery.

However, it quickly descended into chaos due to Chen Bansheng’s sudden outburst.

Initially, most of the wealthy guests were indifferent to the personal dispute between the two young men, merely listening with mild interest to the talk of Feng Shui.

Yet, there were some among the elite who had witnessed the abilities of either Lu Yu or Chen Bansheng, and they believed in the power of Feng Shui and face reading.

With Master Long's involvement, what started as a minor scuffle became far more intriguing.

By now, nearly all the wealthy guests harbored resentment toward Chen Bansheng.

Even Bai Qingzhi, who had initially trusted him, began to have doubts.

But Chen Bansheng wasn’t just anyone; he was the protagonist.

Gritting his teeth, he quickly devised a plan.

"Alright, I admit it—the person in the video is indeed me." He declared, causing an uproar among the guests.

"My God, it’s really him?" Someone exclaimed.

"How bold of him to admit it!" another chimed in.

Ignoring the chatter, Chen Bansheng continued, "But do any of you know why I did it?"

The crowd reacted with disbelief.

"Is he really going to try and justify this?" one person muttered.

"It’s shameful to even suggest there’s a reason for such a despicable act," Another added.

Unfazed, Chen Bansheng pressed on, "I have a personal grievance with him, as he’s already made clear. Is it so wrong for me to defend myself when he sent people after me? I have neither wealth nor power—what else could I use but my skills?"

His words gave the crowd pause.

Indeed, it’s far easier for the wealthy to deal with ordinary people, but for someone like Chen Bansheng to fight back against the rich?

That’s no simple task.

In a few well-chosen words, Chen Bansheng had shifted from being seen as a villain to a victim.

"I believe in Brother Chen," Wu Xianqiang's son, Wu Kai, boldly stated. "Young master Lu once sent men to threaten Brother Chen, so he used his skills to protect himself."

"I also believe Brother Chen," Sun Xiuping added, turning to Lu Yu. "If you hadn’t sent people after him, he wouldn’t have needed to retaliate."

"Well said!" Lu Yu clapped slowly. "Are you both Chen Bansheng's friends?"

"We’re not just friends—we’re brothers." Wu Kai declared.

"Brothers, huh?" Lu Yu smirked. "Interesting. But don’t forget—I didn’t show this video to prove who’s right or wrong."

"Then what’s your point?" Sun Xiuping asked, frowning.

Lu Yu scanned the room before replying, "I wanted to prove that Chen Bansheng isn’t a Feng Shui master who follows the rules. He’s a Feng Shui master who uses his knowledge to harm others."

Wu Kai scoffed, "It depends on who the target is. If the person deserves it, then they deserve whatever they get."

"Are you saying my family deserved it?" Lu Yu’s eyes narrowed.

"Isn’t that obvious?" Wu Kai retorted.

Lu Yu’s smile didn’t reach his eyes as he replied, "Fine, even if my family deserved it, does that mean your father deserved it too?"

Wu Kai faltered. "What do you mean?"

Lu Yu ignored him and turned to Wu Xianqiang. "Mr. Wu, it seems your son is still too young to understand."

Wu Xianqiang’s expression darkened as he grasped the implication.

Chen Bansheng might have some talent, but if he was using it to manipulate and harm them for personal gain, then he was nothing more than a wolf in sheep’s clothing.

"Dad, what does he mean?" Wu Kai asked, confused.

"Xiao Kai, be quiet!" Wu Xianqiang snapped, his gaze fixed on Chen Bansheng. "Tell me the truth, Xiao Chen—is there any truth to what he’s saying?"

"Of course not!" Chen Bansheng replied indignantly.

He was no fool and understood Lu Yu’s insinuation. "How could I do something so underhanded? I’ve never harmed anyone in secret, only to later play the hero. That’s not who I am."

"But… you can’t be so sure!" Lu Yu countered passionately. "You’ve already shown you’re capable of setting up a deadly Feng Shui formation. What else are you capable of?"

"I didn’t do it!" Chen Bansheng shouted, but Lu Yu remained unperturbed.

"Actions speak louder than words."

Feeling cornered, Chen Bansheng looked at Wu Xianqiang desperately. "Uncle Wu, even you don’t believe me?"

Wu Xianqiang hesitated, wanting to trust him, but the doubt lingered. "Xiao Chen, this situation…"

Chen Bansheng sighed, "Uncle Wu, I understand. If no one believes me, then I’ll leave."

He cast a glance at Bai Qingzhi before turning to walk away. But before he could take more than a few steps, he was stopped by Lu Mingyuan.

"Leaving? It won’t be that easy." Lu Mingyuan said coldly, his eyes hard.

Lu Mingyuan had watched the video with growing concern. He had no prior knowledge of Chen Bansheng’s true nature, but now that he had seen the footage, he realized just how dangerous the man was.

"What’s this? Do you plan to keep me here for dinner?" Chen Bansheng sneered, eyeing the bodyguards with disdain.

"Do you think I can’t stop you?" Lu Mingyuan challenged.

"Why don’t you try?" Chen Bansheng replied smugly.

Just as the tension peaked, a soft, charming voice interrupted.

"Mr. Lu, please calm down."

A woman gracefully entered the scene, and Lu Mingyuan frowned as he recognized her. "Ye Qianrou? What are you doing?"

"Mr. Lu," Ye Qianrou addressed him with poise, "Please, let him go. Give me this favor."

Lu Mingyuan’s expression grew colder. "Didn’t you see what he did to my family?"

"I saw everything, but no matter what, Master Chen is a friend of my son. If I don’t intervene, I’d be failing as a mother," Ye Qianrou said calmly. "Besides, this is Mr. Li’s banquet. We’re all guests here. It wouldn’t be right to start a fight in someone else’s home."

"But…" Lu Mingyuan began to protest, only to be interrupted by his son.

"Dad, let him go," Lu Yu said unexpectedly.

Lu Mingyuan looked at his son in surprise.
