Chapter 40: The Trouble... She Caused!:

On the ground below, the massive demon dragon spewed fire, scorching the earth and melting mountains instantly, creating a gigantic fiery hole with a diameter of several thousand feet.

After unleashing this attack, the dragon didn't bother to check if Gu Shengyan was dead.

Instead, it opened its huge mouth and began to unleash fire wildly in all directions, venting its rage.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Beams of fire shot into the sky, causing the earth to tremble and crack.

The surrounding area was instantly transformed into a sea of flames, with the dragon thrashing and roaring within it, as if celebrating its newfound freedom.

While the dragon 'celebrated' its release, the disciples of the Purple Moon Immortal Sect scrambled to gather at Purple Moon Peak.

The entire sect's members gathered there.

At the edge of the lotus pond on Purple Moon Peak, Ling Ye and his two companions watched the distant scene, observing the dragon that spanned two mountain peaks and wreaked havoc.

Ji Ziru frowned deeply. "What is that? How could such a powerful beast exist within our Purple Moon Immortal Sect?"

Even from a distance, her cultivation allowed her to sense the creature's formidable power, likely surpassing her own.

As a peak-level expert in the Heaven Realm, if something was stronger than her, it had to be at the Divine Emperor Realm.

"A creature of this strength can easily destroy the inner sect's barrier," she muttered. "Your Majesty, this beast is likely in the Divine Emperor Realm. Please, help us," Ji Ziru pleaded, bowing to Ling Ye.

If it truly was a Divine Emperor realm beast, no one in the Purple Moon Immortal Sect could match it.

Fortunately, Ling Ye was here.

With him, this creature wouldn't stand a chance.

Was this the storm Ling Ye had mentioned?

Did he know in advance?

"You all hold it off for now. I will intervene when the time is right." Ling Ye said calmly.

He needed to ensure that Ling Youyun would appear, so he wasn't in a hurry to act. Until then, Ji Ziru and the others would have to manage.

Ling Ye looked into the distance. Ling Youyun must have sensed her mount's presence here by now.

Though Ji Ziru was puzzled by Ling Ye's reluctance to act immediately, she nodded and rose into the air. "All elders, follow me to stop that beast!" she commanded, flying toward the dragon.

The inner sect elders, including Mu Zihua, followed her lead, heading toward the fiery battlefield.

At the same time, Su Xingyue watched with a frown. "Master, what is the origin of that dragon?"

Ling Ye explained, "It was sealed here by the previous sect master. It was originally the mount of Demon Lord Ling Youyun. Someone released it."

Though Su Xingyue didn't know who Demon Lord Ling Youyun was, she understood that anyone significant enough to be mentioned by her master had to be extraordinary. "Who released it?" she asked curiously.

Ling Ye merely smiled and looked at the still-frightened Gu Shengyan in the crowd.

Well, who else could it be but this troublemaker?

In the original novel, this demon dragon's emergence led to many deaths.

Now, with all the disciples gathered at Purple Moon Peak, they could avoid casualties, though the damage to the sect would still be immense.

Nonetheless, eliminating Ling Youyun would make it worthwhile.

"Was it her?" Su Xingyue's eyebrows furrowed.

Could it be that Gu Shengyan released the dragon?

Why was she always causing trouble?

Around them, the disciples murmured and speculated about the dragon and its origins.

In the crowd, Gu Shengyan remained silent, too afraid to admit her responsibility for releasing the dragon.

Ling Ye turned to Su Xingyue. "Why aren't you acting yet, Master?" she asked, sensing he had a deeper plan.

"With all the experts in the Purple Moon Immortal Sect combined, they can hold it off," Ling Ye said with a light smile. "I need to wait for Ling Youyun to show up."

Realizing this, Su Xingyue understood that her master's real opponent was this mysterious Ling Youyun.

"Do you have the jade pendant I gave you?" Ling Ye asked.

Su Xingyue quickly pulled out the pendant she always carried.

"Get ready. You'll use this pendant to capture that dragon." Ling Ye said with a smile.

"This... this?" Su Xingyue looked at the small jade pendant in her hand, doubting it could contain the dragon.

But recalling her master's words about the pendant's significance, she trusted it had a vital role.

How did he know all this?

It seemed like everything was unfolding according to his plan.
