Chapter 66: The Perfect Supervillainess!:

(Advance chapters are available on Patreon!)

According to Zhang Mu’s memory, Gu Qingqing in the previous life didn’t face any major setbacks or difficulties during the initial stage of her campaign for Chief Prosecutor.

Everything had gone smoothly back then. So, what happened today?

Could it be that his sister Zhang Yuxin and the others didn’t support Gu Qingqing? Or did Gu Qingqing not seek their help?

Zhang Mu didn't dwell too much on this minor issue.

After all, in the end, Gu Qingqing still became Chief Prosecutor, just as she did in the original plot, so there was nothing to worry about.

As long as Gu Qingqing could meet the Dragon Kingdom’s Empress, everything would proceed as planned.

The Empress was deeply impressed by Gu Qingqing's abilities, which was one of the key reasons why Gu Qingqing would eventually rise to become the Prime Minister.

Zhang Mu recalled that in the novel "Dragon Soars to the Capital," the world was set in a fictional universe. The political system of the Dragon Nation resembled a constitutional monarchy, where there was still a royal family, but the king's power was limited and subject to checks. The ten great families, including the Zhang family, wielded considerable influence over the entire Dragon Nation.

However, one shouldn’t underestimate the Xia family, the royal lineage. In the Dragon Nation, the Xia family was indisputably the most powerful family.

Especially after the old emperor passed away and Empress Xia Longwu ascended the throne, their power reached its peak. This also contributed to Gu Qingqing becoming the first female Prime Minister, in part due to her close relationship with Empress Xia Longwu, the Dragon Nation's first female ruler.

As the first female emperor in the history of the Dragon Nation, Xia Longwu’s rule was more stable than any of her predecessors.

Zhang Mu couldn’t help but admire the original author’s creation; this Empress was indeed a formidable character.

However, he realized that the protagonist's plot armor was even more powerful.

Empress Xia Longwu and the princess were both heroines in the original novel, part of the protagonist Ye Feng’s harem.

The relationship between Empress Xia Longwu, the old emperor, and the princess was quite intriguing.

And then there was the imperial physician, Qin Huaisu, in the palace...

“Oh right, she should still be in the palace, Xia Qingqian…” As he thought about the people in the palace, a figure suddenly appeared in Zhang Mu’s mind.

This woman had left a particularly deep impression on him in his previous life.

Even more so than the cunning future Prime Minister Gu Qingqing or the mighty and imposing Empress Xia Longwu, this woman stood out the most.

The woman named Xia Qingqian wasn’t a heroine; she was a villain, just like him. And she wasn’t just any villain—she was an exceptionally powerful one, with a grand ambition to overthrow the Dragon Nation’s royal family and seize power. She aimed for nothing less than a revolution.

Xia Qingqian wasn't only incredibly intelligent, almost to a supernatural degree, but she also possessed extraordinary combat skills and an unparalleled ability to take action.

She was, quite frankly, a combination of Yu Xuanwei and Gu Qingqing, but even more enhanced—a 'plus' version, so to speak.

Such a villainess, with grand ambitions and extraordinary capabilities, was far superior to the role Zhang Mu was playing—a character who was simply a villain to the protagonist, Ye Feng.

Zhang Mu’s role was that of a brainless, malicious playboy villain, whose sole purpose was to make the protagonist seem more righteous and noble by contrast. The difference in their stature was immeasurable.

Unfortunately, in the original plot, after Ye Feng allied with the Dragon Nation’s royal family, this near-perfect supervillainess was ultimately defeated by the protagonist’s plot armor.

Zhang Mu didn’t get to witness their final confrontation first hand because he had been reborn just as the plot was ending. He was quite curious about how it all ended.

What he did remember, however, was that this villainess, who was more beautiful than any of the heroines, didn’t join Ye Feng’s harem. Instead, she chose to commit suicide. It was this point that left a deep impression on Zhang Mu.

A very interesting woman, that was Zhang Mu’s assessment of her.

The reason he remembered her so well was that she was the only ally he, as a villain, had ever cooperated with, even if that cooperation had been very brief.
