Chapter 33: The Demeanor of a Queen:

Hua Jintian naturally had little experience in this area!

But his sister had even less experience than him!

So, he had to give her some advice according to his understanding.

Hua Jintian said, "Go buy a beautiful dress right now! Servants, take Miss out to buy a dress and help her choose."

As soon as Hua Jintian finished speaking, two maids entered from the door.

Hearing the conversation between Hua Jintian and Hua Luoshuang, they couldn't help but chuckle.

It was indeed amusing to see a big man giving advice on such matters.

Of course, they only dared to laugh secretly, not openly.

"Go quickly, get ready, and then we'll go see His Majesty!" Hua Jintian gestured with his hand.

Hua Luoshuang sighed slightly and nodded.

Fine, she would listen to her brother. She hoped His Majesty would like her in a dress, though she had never dressed that way before.

The two maids then led Hua Luoshuang out.

The streets of the Imperial Capital were bustling with activity.

The maids brought Hua Luoshuang to the most luxurious tailor shop exclusively for nobility in the capital.

"Miss, what do you think of these?" The maids began to introduce various dresses to her. "This Misty Moon Fairy Dress suits you well!"

"And this Flowing Jade Floral Gown!"

"And this Purple Celestial Dress…"

They chose the most expensive and gorgeous dresses in the shop, liking them themselves but unsure if Hua Luoshuang would like them.

Hua Luoshuang looked at the fancy dresses, unable to tell the difference between them and puzzled by their extravagant names.

"Anything is fine. Choose the one you think looks best," she said helplessly, shaking her head. "And if there's anything you like, you can buy some for yourselves."

Hearing this, the maids were overjoyed. "Really? Can we?"

This shop was for nobles only.

Could they, mere servants, wear such expensive dresses one day?

"Of course. Choose quickly, or His Majesty might get impatient!" Hua Luoshuang nodded.

"Yes, yes!" The maids nodded eagerly, then quickly started selecting dresses for both Hua Luoshuang and themselves.

"General Hua?"

Just then, a pleasant voice came from the entrance.

Hua Luoshuang turned to see a graceful woman in a blue dress with two attendants standing at the door.

"Jiang Lin?"

Hua Luoshuang recognized this elegant and gentle woman immediately.

She was the eldest granddaughter of the old prime minister and another admirer of Ling Ye.

Jiang Lin was talented in music, chess, calligraphy, and painting, she was a childhood friend of Hua Luoshuang.

"When did you return, General Hua?" Jiang Lin smiled as she walked in.

She had come to buy dresses too and was surprised to see Hua Luoshuang there.

Hua Luoshuang, known for her fighting talent, rarely visited such places.

"I just arrived after receiving a summons from His Majesty." Hua Luoshuang smiled.

"Oh?" Jiang Lin understood why Hua Luoshuang was there.

"So, General Hua plans to dress up nicely to meet His Majesty?" She teased.

Hearing this, Hua Luoshuang blushed.

Dressing up wasn't her idea but her brother's suggestion.

Seeing Hua Luoshuang's reaction, Jiang Lin covered her mouth and chuckled. "It's rare for General Hua to have such thoughts! Do you need any help?"

Hua Luoshuang looked at Jiang Lin, recognizing her superior taste in these matters. Jiang Lin's judgment was undoubtedly better.

"Thank you." Hua Luoshuang nodded.

Jiang Lin smiled and personally selected and matched clothes for Hua Luoshuang.

She chose a silver-white silk dress and took out a set of six silver hairpins.

She then undid Hua Luoshuang's high ponytail and used the hairpins to style her hair, three on each side for symmetry. Finally, she picked a ribbon and tied it gently around Hua Luoshuang.

Her tender and meticulous manner made Hua Luoshuang feel like she was being cared for by a gentle wife.

But on second thought, this wasn't right.

Jiang Lin was more than a thoughtful wife; she was someone who could maintain harmony in the imperial harem, fitting for an empress.

Indeed, Jiang Lin, with her considerate nature, had the demeanor of a queen. Perhaps

His Majesty would choose her as the empress someday. Well-educated, gentle, and kind, she was the ideal wife!
