Chapter 49: Annihilation With a Sword, Admiration, Fate:
In front of the ruins of a super sect, a group of people gathered. Hundreds, dressed in white robes, tall and noble in demeanor. This was the Jade Moon Sect.
The Jade Moon Sect, with its long lineage spanning thousands of years, ranked among the top twenty in the Northern Territory. For this Tianjiao gathering, they sent their inner disciples, chief disciples, and direct disciples. The group stretched out like a majestic white dragon.
At the head of the group stood a man in a white robe adorned with a golden crown. His robe bore a golden dragon pattern and a silver moon totem. He was Bai Tiankuang, the first Holy Son of the Jade Moon Sect, his cultivation already at the 6th stage Crimson Profound Realm. Among the younger generation in the Northern Territory, he was a peerless figure.
Now, Bai Tiankuang led his group of disciples in search of fortune. By chance, they arrived at the ruins of a super sect. In the distance, a grand golden hall stood atop countless icy peaks, resembling a palace of the heavens.
"A hall of such splendor... it must be the ruins of an ancient sect," Bai Tiankuang declared, standing atop his flying treasure and surveying the scene. He had a strong feeling that great fortune awaited within the golden hall.
"Move!" Bai Tiankuang commanded, waving his sleeve. "All Jade Moon Sect disciples, enter the hall and seize every opportunity you find!"
In a hidden part of the hall, Lin Ang and Qiu Ruohan waited.
Watching the Jade Moon Sect disciples arrive, Qiu Ruohan’s eyes showed surprise. She turned to Lin Ang and asked, "Are these the people you’ve been waiting for, Jade Moon Sect?"
Lin Ang, calm and composed, played with the long sword in his hand, his thoughts unreadable.
"All of Jade Moon Sect’s chief disciples and direct disciples are here," Qiu Ruohan thought. "Jade Moon Sect and Azure Cloud Sect have long been rivals. If we’re discovered, we’ll be in danger... but the young master seems to have everything under control."
She could only wait and watch.
Soon, the Jade Moon Sect disciples entered the hall. Inside, they found an immaculate space, as though untouched by time. Jade platforms stood empty, with no treasures or inheritance left behind.
"This...?" Bai Tiankuang was shocked. A hall so grand, surely it had been a treasure trove once, but now it was completely empty.
His disciples returned, reporting with bowed heads, "Holy Son, we found no treasures in the ruins behind the mountain, nor in the attic, nor in the sovereign’s quarters. Only some old scriptures remain."
Bai Tiankuang clenched his teeth. "It seems someone has already taken everything. Whoever it is will become a great threat to the Jade Moon Sect in the future."
Frustrated, Bai Tiankuang flicked his sleeves and ordered, "Let’s leave. Split up and search for more opportunities. And if you encounter any disciples from the Azure Cloud Sect, kill them all, especially Lin Ang. My brother died at his hands. I will turn him into a puppet and torture him forever!"
Xu Tianhuo, the second disciple, sneered. "Our spies report that the Azure Cloud Sect ancestor, who has lived for ten thousand years, is nearing the end of his life. When he dies, the Jade Moon Sect will strike, and the Azure Cloud Sect will be wiped out!"
Bai Tiankuang smirked, about to leave the hall, when an indifferent voice echoed: "Leave? You’re not going anywhere."
At once, all the Jade Moon Sect disciples were on high alert. From behind a stone platform, a figure in green robes, holding a long sword, stepped forward. His expression was calm.
"Azure Cloud Sect disciple?" Bai Tiankuang’s eyes narrowed. "You... you’re Lin Ang, the Azure Cloud Sect's Holy Son? You killed my disciples at Longhu Mountain and still dare to show yourself before us?"
The other Jade Moon Sect disciples glared at Lin Ang.
"Yes, it’s me." Lin Ang replied camly.
Bai Tiankuang’s expression shifted. "You must have taken the inheritance from this sect, haven’t you? Hand it over, and come back with me to serve as a guardian for my disciples’ spirits for 20 years. Maybe then you’ll avoid death."
Xu Tianhuo scoffed. "Just kill him. Whatever inheritance he has will be ours."
At this moment, a gentle voice spoke: "My lord, be careful. They are the top disciples of Jade Moon Sect."
A woman in a flowing blue dress appeared, graceful and beautiful, her hair soft like silk. It was Qiu Ruohan, the peerless swordswoman, who had come to stand beside Lin Ang, her Qiushui sword in hand. Her beauty stunned the Jade Moon Sect disciples.
Qiu Ruohan had intended to stay back, as Lin Ang had asked, but seeing him in danger, she couldn’t remain idle. "I cannot let the young master face danger alone," she thought, her heart resolute.
Bai Tiankuang’s disciples were already whispering among themselves, admiring her beauty.
Lin Ang shook his head. "You think you can kill me?" He sighed, seemingly disappointed. Without further words, he raised his hand and formed a sword seal.
In an instant, a brilliant red and blue sword energy burst forth, radiating like the sun across the sky. This sword, infused with great sword intent and Lin Ang’s martial mastery, was immense and powerful, cutting through the very air.
"8th stage Crimson Profound Realm? Great sword intent? Fortune martial arts?" Bai Tiankuang’s face turned pale as he realized the depth of Lin Ang’s power. His voice broke into a hoarse scream: "Run! He’s a master swordsman! He’s come to destroy us!"
Bai Tiankuang frantically used every escape technique and spirit treasure at his disposal, fleeing as fast as he could. But it was too late.
The massive sword energy descended, covering miles in an instant. Bai Tiankuang’s body was the first to disintegrate into blood under its force. Then Xu Tianhuo, the third disciple, the fourth disciple, and countless others followed, all obliterated by the sword’s overwhelming power.
In mere moments, the hall was silent once more. The hundreds of Jade Moon Sect disciples had vanished, leaving only a massive crack in the earth that stretched deep into the secret realm. From the crack, sword energy still pulsed.
With a single sword, Lin Ang had wiped out all the Jade Moon Sect disciples.
Lin Ang smiled faintly, brushing off his sleeve. Not a drop of blood stained him. He stood as pure as ever, a master of the sword.
Qiu Ruohan, standing beside him, watched in awe. Only now did she begin to understand the full extent of Lin Ang’s power. He was truly someone she could entrust her life to.
Breaking the long silence, she spoke earnestly, "Holy Son Lin Ang... if I were to die, you’d still be able to return to the sect safely, wouldn’t you?"
Lin Ang, aware of the deeper meaning behind her words, gave a faint smile. "Naturally."
[Daughter of Destiny, Qiu Ruohan, believes you are worthy of her trust. Favorability +30.]
