Chapter 34: Beauty Beyond Words:

"How do you know?" Long Xiang glared at Yun Bufan, his eyes bloodshot with rage.

Yun Bufan smiled slightly. "I not only know about this item but also how much it terrifies you."

The Long family used to be a prestigious elite family. Over time, their fortunes declined. The family head once met a master of yin and yang and obtained the Bloodthirsty Bone Jade. This jade was said to have spiritual benefits, and if nourished with fresh blood daily, it would recognize its master in ten years. Once it did, it would ensure the family's prosperity.

From that point on, the Long family flourished, becoming one of the most renowned families in the Imperial Capital. However, they forgot that all gifts from fate come with a hidden price. Since then, every generation of the Long family had a direct descendant who died violently at the age of 27.

Now, the only male under twenty-seven left in the Long family was the twenty-six-year-old Long Xiang. This meant he was certain to die within a year. The Long family had tried to get rid of the Bloodthirsty Bone Jade, but every attempt resulted in someone dying. This curse hung over the family like a dark cloud.

Though Long Xiang appeared to live a glorious life, he lived each day in fear, which contributed to his violent nature.

"I know how to break this curse and free your family from the threat of the Bloodthirsty Bone Jade," Yun Bufan said, making Long Xiang tremble with hope. To him, Yun Bufan's words were a lifeline.

"Why should I believe you?" Long Xiang asked through gritted teeth.

Yun Bufan replied calmly, "You have no choice but to believe me. Even if your family altered your birth date or found a substitute to take your place, you know these tricks can't fool the Bloodthirsty Bone Jade."

Hearing these words, Long Xiang's face turned as pale as a sheet of paper. With a loud thud, he knelt on the ground. "Master, can you save me?"

Yun Bufan's knowledge of the Long family stunned Long Xiang. Despite his young age, his fear of death overpowered his pride. In front of everyone, he knelt without hesitation, hoping for a chance to live.

"I can overlook what happened today. Just don't trouble Miss Bai again. I will come to the Imperial Capital in a month to help lift the curse," Yun Bufan said. Long Xiang nodded vigorously. "Master, can I have your contact information?" He took out his phone, looking earnestly.

Yun Bufan gave him his number. True to his word, Long Xiang left with his men immediately after.

"Who is this man?" Bai Xingkui approached after Long Xiang's departure.

"Grandfather, this is Yun Bufan, my guest," Bai Yuexi said. Bai Xingkui then did something that shocked everyone. He knelt in front of Yun Bufan.

"Benefactor, please accept my bow!" Bai Xingkui said.

Yun Bufan helped him up. "There's no need to be so formal. It was a small matter."

"You saved our family. Otherwise, we would have faced disaster today," Bai Xingkui said, waving away Yun Bufan's modesty.

On the side, Su Chen was displeased. "If it weren't for this meddler, I would have crippled that guy's legs! Then he wouldn't dare cause any more trouble."

Bai Xingkui's face darkened. "If you had crippled Long Xiang, not only you but our entire family would be in grave danger."

Su Chen scoffed. "What's the big deal? I'm not afraid of anything."

Seeing Su Chen's arrogance, Bai Xingkui sighed. He had once thought Su Chen, with his excellent medical skills and impressive abilities at a young age, might be a good match for his granddaughter. Now, he realized Su Chen lacked the maturity and foresight of Yun Bufan.

Meanwhile, Bai Yuexi was also feeling a storm of emotions. Looking at Yun Bufan's handsome face, she bit her lip. "I've decided to have the first dance with you."

Su Chen protested, "Didn't you say the first dance would be with me?"

Bai Xingkui apologized awkwardly. "Sorry, but I promised my wife I'd dance with her."

As the music started, Yun Bufan turned to Shen Qingxin. "Dear Miss Shen Qingxin, would you like to dance with me?"

Shen Qingxin smiled and placed her hand in his. They started to dance, and under the crowd's watchful eyes, Shen Qingxin blushed slightly.

"With my face like this, aren't you afraid people will laugh at you for marrying a disfigured woman?" she asked.

"Not at all! If anyone laughs, I'll kick them away," Yun Bufan joked, making Shen Qingxin laugh.

"I need to confess something," Shen Qingxin suddenly said, stopping their dance. Before Yun Bufan could respond, she took off her mask and removed the fake scar from her face. A flawless, stunning face was revealed, making Yun Bufan feel like the entire world had brightened.

Shen Qingxin's beauty was beyond words. Her delicate features and smooth skin were without a single flaw, and her clear, gentle eyes, like glazed glass, were captivating.

The crowd gasped in amazement. "She's so beautiful!"

"A goddess in human form!"

"Is she real?"

Even Bai Yuexi had to admit Shen Qingxin's beauty surpassed hers. The most furious was Su Chen, who had known Shen Qingxin's disfigurement was fake but hadn't expected her real appearance to be so breathtaking.

"Are you not angry?" Shen Qingxin asked, blinking at Yun Bufan.

Yun Bufan grinned. "With such a beautiful wife, how could I be anything but happy?"

"Alright, I believe you for now," Shen Qingxin said, playfully punching his chest. They resumed dancing.

"Reduce Su Chen's luck points," Yun Bufan decided.

[Ding! Su Chen's luck points were reduced by 3000 points. Current total: 77,000 points]
